About Startup Weekend
Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations.

Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials.

The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education.  Whether you are looking for feedback on an idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.

    Rizki Tarisa

    Industrial Designer at S.POINT

I believe designers are essentially story tellers. To tell great stories, I listen to great stories first. I learn by listening and understanding by doing. Passionate about design, human interaction and reaction. I enjoy creating objects, I appreciate aesthetics, I see beauty in functions, and I believe in the idea of "The right place, the right time, and the right people". Born and raised in Indonesia, I started my design endeavor in 2006 by enrolling to a Design School in Malaysia. Prior to graduation, I joined several design studios in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore as an Industrial Design Trainee. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Product Design from Curtin University of Technology in summer 2010, and I landed my first full time job in Singapore as an Industrial Designer. Throughout the past few years, I have enhanced my skills in Industrial Design through my involvement in various projects in several design companies in 5 different countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, China), including working remotely during my 1,5 year long backpacking trip. These projects range from consumer electronics, kitchenware, beauty and medical devices, to game controllers.
